Red sky...

We've awoken fresh and raring to go this morning after a restorative night's slumber. And we awoke to a stunning vista this morning; a bllod-red sky from the eastern horizon to the western one.

A quick check of the Metservice website confirmed the old wives' tale; there's rain on the way, and quite a bit of it. And by the feel of the air this morning (it's already 14*), it's coming from somewhere tropical.

The farmers whom we neighbour will be pleased. And we couldn't help but notice that some kind soul has planted a few vegetable plants in our absence, whilst the potatoes we planted a few weeks back are up and are in need of a bit of mounding, so we might have to head down to the vege patch before we head to work and prepare everything before it gets a drenching.

And best of all; with our new location some distance from the road, there were no children and teenagers knocking on our door last night demanding lollies under threat of causing damage to the house or garden as happened when we lived in the 'hood; but we will have pumpkins soon!

It's starting to rain in the smoke.

The lawn will need mowing before the week is out.

Lucky you for the trick or treating. My lads went trick or treating aka harassing the neighbours last night. Now they are ODing on sweets.

I pity their teachers today.
