Stuff is breathlessly reporting the results of the latest Horizon poll which are so out of kilter with every other poll as to immediately call the integrity of the poll into question. The Horizon poll of course uses a self-selected panel of people, most of whom have vested interests, who have volunteered to be polled.
So we can't help but wonder how accurate the Horizon poll is. We wonder that especially in light of an e-mail we received from someone this morning who has six seperate identities on Horizon's polling panel. When it's polling time, this person dutifully completes the poll from their six seperate e-mail addresses, giving the same answers each time. Ironically though in the last round of polling, all six e-mails were sent from the same IP address!
The nature of the Horizon poll leaves it wide open to abuse. We wonder of Stuff editorial staff realise that, or whether, unlike their counterparts at the Herald on Sunday they simply publish and be damned.
