Len's conflict of interest

Hat-tip to Roarprawn for spotting this; here's some of the people who like Occupy Auckland on Facebook:

This seems to be a very big and messy potential conflict of interest for Len Brown. On one hand, he's trying to evict the protesters, and his council is now waiting on a decision from a District Court Judge; on the other hand he's offering tacit support to the protesters via social media.

It's long been suspected that Len Brown was deep-down a friend of many involved in the Occupy movement; now it's confirmed. His reluctance to do anything to move the protesters in the early days has come back to bite him in the bum. Sadly, the cost of his benevolence will be borne by the long-suffering ratepayers of his city.

UPDATE: We've changed the image above, which was a list of those whom Occupy Auckland liked. What's displayed now is a screenshot from the list of those 4953 individuals and organisations who like Occupy Auckland. Apologies for any confusion, but Len Brown indeed likes Occupy Auckland, which is a bit odd when his Council has just taken Court proceedings against them.

"Liking" something on Facebook does not necessarily mean that you agree with it or support it - in lots of cases it just means that you want to follow what is happening on the page. For example if you are the Mayor of a city where there is an occupy protest you might want to see what they are planning.

I "Liked" a page called "The Geezer Bandit" which is in relation to a geriatric bank robber in California. Does that mean that i support bank robbers?

I can't stand Len Brown - but this is just silly.

Oh Jacqui; don't spoil the fun!

I maybe terribly wrong but that's still Occupys list of people they like. http://www.facebook.com/lenbrownformayor?sk=info here's the list that Len Brown likes.

I hate defending Len, I really do.

I will also take the time to point out INV2 that upon browsing the pages that you have "Liked" the "Vote for Annete Sykes" page is there - so either you voted for Annete Sykes - or you already knew what i explained above and this post is just rubbish.

Oops sorry - didn't mean to spoil fun.

Back to picking on Len Brown. He deserves it anyway - no idea why i am sticking up for the moron.

I'm in an argumentative mood :)

Keeping Stock has a very big and messy potential conflict of interest. On one hand, he says he hates Mana, on the other, he likes Annette Sykes on facebook.
Oh dear oh dear!

@ Mark - no; the image on the post now is a screenshot of the list of those who like Occupy Auckland
