Wanganui has turned on another stunning day to welcome our visitors to the city. It's quite cool to pull into the supermarket carpark, and park alongside something that graced the roads 70 or more years ago. All the cars that we've seen so far are immaculately presented, and are a credit to their owners.
Long may the sun shine, and the brass gleam!

The Rutherford Family Of Leslie Hills in The Amuri district of North Canterbury had an "All Days and Onions" That 'young' Duncan used to wheel out to appropriate occasions. From memory it was dated around 1909.
When Chitty Chitty Bang Bang came along that name was of little consequence to one who knew a car could be an All Days And Onions.
When I was growing up we had a 1928 Dodge which was replaced in 1956 with a brand new Hillman Minx which I sold in 1974 following my fathers death - from memory it had 24,000 miles on the clock and I probably did 15,000 of them as a teenager before getting my own car.
I don't know if you lot will recognise the name, but I'm inspired to hunt down some 'Gumdrop' books for my boys.
I have fond memories of going to the start of the London - Brighton run with my Grandad.
