Maurice Williamson is a seasoned MP. He's the Minister of Customs, Minister of Statistics, Minister for Building and Construction and Minister for Land Information. He's also one of the better speakers in the House.
It was in his capacity as Land Information Minister that he spoke in the Address-in-Reply Debate this afternoon. And having been one of the Ministers who signed off the Overseas Investment Office's decision regarding the Westpac farms recently( those farms formerly owned by the Crafars), it's no surprise that he devoted his entire speech to that contentious issue.
Maurice Williamson is a good enough communicator that he doesn't need us to paraphrase his message. We simply recommend that you watch his speech in its entirety and you'll learn why Williamson made the decision which has produced such a xenophobic reaction:

Ministers in John Key's National-led governments understand they're not above the law?
That can't be said about all previous administrations.
