We reluctantly joined the iWorld late in 2010 when She Who Must Be Obeyed insisted that we procure an iPhone 4. It didn't take long before we were hooked, and an iPad followed in quick succession. Both have since been upgraded.
But we're having a problem with e-books on the iPad. Right from the start, we've been a customer of Whitcoulls, but in the last few months, we've had a succession of issues. Books are simply disappearing (sometimes before we've even read them!), we've bought a couple of books that haven't downloaded, and the range of titles available from Whitcoulls seems to shrink by the day.
So can anyone help us out please? Have you had similar problems to the ones we're describing? Who else provides a reliable and trustworthy e-book option for New Zealand customers?
Any responses will be gratefully received so that we can fill our iPad up again and get back to some reading!

The simplest solution is to download the Kindle for iPad app and use Amazon. The iBook store is not available in New Zealand, sadly. If you insist on using Whitcoulls and the like, Stanza works well with the iPad. My advice would be to download Calibre (free and works on both Mac and PC) and store your books on your main computer. You can access them all via Stanza over your wireless network and can download a selection wirelessly before you go away.
The advantage of Calibre is that you do not lose your books when restoring your iPad. It is a nuisance to have to download them again and, as you have found out, sites like Whitcoulls do not do a good job of maintaining your library of purchases online (Amazon is much better at this)
Not sure why you limit your purchases to Whitcoulls. I have never had a problem with Amazon books for my Kindle. Their purchasing systems and service are trouble-free. And the NZ/US dollar makes for good buying, and they are perfect for the iPad.
3rd vote for the Amazon Kindle app, I buy shedloads of $0.99 books
Thanks folks; have downloaded the Kindle app, and am already buying from Amazon, with a couple of dozen titles on my wish list! I will get around to downloading the Calibre option for storage, as I can see that Amazon will be seeing plenty of my credit card!
Thanks again; much appreciated!
