Melbourne is one of our favourite cities. It's just a shame that this visit (on business) has been so brief; we'd love to be able to stay longer, but circumstances simply don't permit that just at the moment.
Melbourne has just got so much going for it. It's a foodie's paradise, and it's Australia's sporting capital. We've had the chance to get out for a couple of excellent meals, but as far as the sport goes, our timing is lousy! Still, we're enjoying watching Sri Lanka upset the Australians in the second match of the finals of the Commonwealth Bank ODI series as we type this. The Aussies will be gutted having to play a third final on Thursday as they are due to fly out to the Caribbean on Friday, and the players would have enjoyed a couple of days with their families. We've got a couple more meetings today before we head away, so there's a fair chance we might make a passing reference to last night's result.
And yesterday morning before we headed off to our first engagement, we flicked the hotel telly onto Channel 10 to check out Paul Henry's new gig. We're delighted to report that he's the same Paul Henry as before, suggesting that an AFL player should be shot rather than suspended for a couple of games after twice belting an opponent in a match at the weekend!
This stay in Melbourne has been, of neccessity, brief. We'll be back soon when we will have a little more time to catch a show, a game, and dine on some of the many cuisines that this vibrant city has to offer.
