The Breakers versus Wildcats match at Vector Arena was an absolute thriller. It was a must-win for the Breakers if they were to avoid a trip to The Jungle in Perth one match down. And after trailing by six with just a couple of minutes to go, the desperate Breakers prevailed by six after overtime.
And the photo above epitomises the desperation, as Dillon Boucher is fouled scrambling for a loose ball in the closing moments. CJ Bruton lurks in the background.
Bruton was sensational last night, sparking the Breakers' revival after a slow start, making two clutch shots, one from outside the three-point line to close the game up in the dying minutes of regular time, and then drawing a charging foul on defence a moment later. His big-game experience told. And Boucher was at his aggravating best, scrapping for loose balls, drawing fouls, and even starring on offence at one point.
