Did Steve have a shocker?

Apart from the All Black match on Saturday night, we didn't see much rugby this weekend. But we ask this question; did Steve Walsh have another shocker in the test match between England and the South Africans?

Why do we ask? Well, our Sitemeter stat counter is ticking over far faster than usual this morning. So when we went to see where the hits were coming from, we found a whole lot of links back to this post from February 2009, when Steve Walsh was shown the red card by the NZRU.

So we've put two and two together. Have we got the right answer, or have we come up with 22? Could some helpful reader who views Steve Walsh with a slightly less jaundiced eye than we might help us out?

No he didn't and I'm no SW fan (although I do admire him for getting a grip on his problem and getting his life back on track).

It was a pretty brutal test match - easily more physical than either the Australian or All Blacks games. SW kept a grip of proceedings and I saw no howlers. Heneke Meyer worked out how England would use Tualigi and he got no change out of the Bok defence. THe Boks were probably lucky to be level at half time but England's midfield didn't ask enough questions and their kicking (like Wales' against the Ockers) was too deep. THe BOks also changed tactics at half time (England didn't) and commmitted more to the breakdown and that turned the match. Willem Alberts and the new lock Eban Estabeth(sic) went well.

Haven't seen the match yet, and on the strength of Paul Ackford's write-up, I don't think I'll bother.

SW gets a single minor mention for being fussy about scrum engagement so I suppose that means he wasw at least adequate.
