The Ewen Macdonald trial

Ewen Macdonald has gone on trial in the High Court at Wellington for the murder in 2010 of his brother-in-law Scott Guy.

This case was a real whodunnit, and the family connection has sparked all sorts of rumour and innuendo. But Macdonald is entitled to a fair trial, and it is up to the Crown to prove his guilt. Until then, he is innocent.

The trial was transferred from Palmerston North to Wellington because of the widespread publicity that the case attracted which could perhaps have made a fair trial difficult. Because of that, this will be our only comment until such time as the jury returns with its verdict, and comments are deactivated on this post.
