The Merry Month of May

May 2012 is now history. But it was a busy month for us here at Keeping Stock; the first time for a while we've had 20,000 unique visitors and 30,000 page views in a month. In fact May was our busiest month since the General Election in November, and our third-busiest ever in terms of visitors. And that was despite having been on the road for three out of the four weekends in May, when our proximity to the computer was limited

Here are the numbers:

Over at Open Parachute, Ken tracks the monthly blog rankings of all those who use Sitemeter, and who make their numbers publicly available. The Open Parachute Blog Rankings track all sorts of New Zealand blogs, not just those with a political bent. Here's the top part of the list:

We're pretty happy to be inside the top twenty blogs in New Zealand. It's you guys coming and visiting that makes all this worthwhile. But there's been a bit of a to-do between Martyn Bradbury from Tumeke and Ken from Open Parachute. Bradbury refuses to accept the veracity of Ken's figures, and faced with a choice between a moderate, analytical scientific researcher like Ken and a hothead like Martyn, guess whose side we take!

Lastly,. congratulations again to Cameron Slater. Love 'im or hate 'im, Whaleoil is New Zealand's most-read blog once again, although David "Happy Feet" Farrar is gaining some ground. Well done those bloggers, and all who help in the endless pursuit of work avoidance by providing their particular take on the world!

Congratulations!

May was my best month since the election as well. Maybe the cold weather helps with getting readers? I don't know.

Yes..congratulations. Well done.
It's a pity your blog is now being dominated by the 2 most tedious trolls in the blogosphere.

So how did the frothing, fatuous one-handed typing watermelon blogger from down south go in the stats KS?

Greens .... they say they are green cos they are too YELLOW to admit that they are RED

I'm not sure the figures are correct either. Two blog owners, seen all over the place are missing from the list .. Philu and Robert Guyton??
