Tiger Woods has tied Jack Nicklaus in second place for the most-ever wins on the PGA Tour. And even more significantly, he's done at at Jack's place; the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village in Ohio.
A couple of shots back with four holes to play, Woods played the last four in three under to win by two strokes. And he unleashed a bit of Tiger Magic on the difficult par-three sixteenth; check this out:
The degree of difficulty of Woods' shot can't be overestimated. A poor lie in the rough, downwind, downhill and with water waiting behind the hole, Tiger pulled out the kind of shot that only Tiger can. Meeting Woods as he came off the 18th green, Jack Nicklaus described the shot as "the most unbelievable, gutsy shot I've ever seen."; and Jack's seen a few!
The US Open is just two weeks away. Tiger Woods hit the ball this week better than he has for several years. And when he starts making shots like the one above, you just get the feeling that something special is about to happen.
