Comment of the Day - 16 July 2012

Dave Armstrong writes in today's Dom-Post about the vexed issue of water rights. As we said in our earlier post, it all seems a bit moot today as the rain falls around much of the country filling the dams, lakes, streams and rivers with fresh water from above.

But we spotted this tongue-in-cheek comment below Armstrong's opinion-piece, and we reckon that it's worth a tongue-in-cheek airing:

The comment may be in jest, but it actually shows how odd the notion is that anyone can "own" the water that is all around us in this weather-soaked land. Surely, water is the ultimate renewable resource.
