Emmerson on the Vodafone buy-out

Here's yet another reason why Rod Emmerson is our favourite daily cartoonist:

And on the subject of the Vodafone buy-out of Telstra Clear, there could be good news on the job front; the Dom-Post reports:

Vodafone has promised it will do "everything it can" to ensure TelstraClear's cable network customers in Wellington and Christchurch benefit from its takeover of TelstraClear.
About 80,000 TelstraClear cable network customers in the two cities and at least that many customers around the country are set to become customers of Vodafone after Australia's Telstra yesterday announced it would sell TelstraClear to Vodafone for $840 million.
Vodafone chief executive Russell Stanners strongly hinted that Vodafone could repatriate all telephone support for TelstraClear customers to New Zealand from the Philippines.
TelstraClear axed its contact centre in Paraparaumu with the loss of 70 jobs in 2010, when it decided to split phone support between Christchurch and the Philippines, but Mr Stanners said Vodafone had been answering all its calls in New Zealand since last year.
It would be reasonable to speculate that TelstraClear phone support would be brought back to New Zealand.

As if Telecom's monopoly on landline services nationwide being threatened wasn't good news enough, the repatriation of jobs is an added bonus!

Obviously the standard of cartoonists is at an exceptionally low level right now.

Mr Emmerson once again says nothing, without humour and says it badly.
