Don't do it David

David Tua is contemplating a comeback; Stuff reports:

Retired heavyweight boxer David Tua says he is returning to professional boxing, the Samoa Observer reports.
Saying he wants to be back in the ring by March, he would not reveal who he might fight.
Tua said he had decided to retire earlier this year because of his care for his supporters.
"I didn't want to let them down knowing I had some outstanding issues to sort out. But I believe that is behind me now. I'm looking forward to fighting again and giving it one last try," he told the Observer.
"It's going to be a case of one fight at the time. I believe there is still a lot of fight left in me and I'm looking forward to getting back into it."

It's 20 years since David Tua won a bronze medal at the Barcelona Olympics. It's almost twelve years since he was comprehensively out-boxed by Lennox Lewis in Las Vegas.

Father Time is not kind to aging pugilists. Before making any decision on his future, David Tua should watch this video over and over again:

David Tua was a good but not great fighter in his prime. He is well past his prime. For his own sake, Tua should quickly have a rethink on any comeback, because the outcome will be neither dignified nor pretty.

Tua was a great puncher, he wasn't much of a boxer. Lennox Lewis showed how he was miles away from being a world champion by out boxing him for twelve rounds - Tua wasn't even close in that fight.
