A surprising poll

All the usual suspects were cock-a-hoop about the 3News-Reid Research poll's release last night. This was the poll that was going to show once and for all how much the NZ public was going to turn away from John Key in respect of the Kim Dotcom-GCSB fiasco.

So nobody expected Duncan Garner to say this:

Mr Key will be buoyed by tonight's results. National appears to have escaped unscathed from his brain-fade over Dotcom. At 62 seats, National quite remarkably could govern alone.

The Labour Party will be gutted that none of the mud that it has flung at the Prime Minister has stuck. John Key is still far and away the preferred Prime Minister at 41%, with David Shearer a distant second on just 8.5% and falling.

3News will be gutted too. Its political team has done everything possible to discredit John Key, with a heavyweight attack over the Dotcom saga. Perhaps the public is suffering from Dotcom Fatigue Syndrome, or perhaps we are simply sick and tired of being told by the so-called "news media" what we should and shouldn't believe.

Or perhaps there's another explanation; swing voters look at the disarray and disunity in the Labour caucus and the inflationary and interventionist economic policies of the Greens, and stick with the devil they know, worrying about how much worse the devil they don't know might be.

And to have it released on the mouthpiece of the left - priceless

National's support is consistently falling. Support for Key is the lowest ever and dropping.
This is very good news.
The recent Roy Morgan poll failed to get a mention here on Keeping Stock.
Odd!

How do you think the latest news will affect the polls?

"Keith Ng has uncovered a truly massive breach in MSD’s computer security, and posted about it last night at Public Address."

Incompetent National. One cock-up after another.

As Paul O’Reilly mentioned on Facebook, this is the agency that Paula Bennett wants to manage an inter-agency database of at risk kids. I don’t think so…

Yep Inv2 a certain Dunedin List MP was cock-a-hoop on the Liarbore bogsite. However he wouldn't allow this comment pointing out his hypocrisy.

"Hmmm, David [Clark]says 'putting half the story comes close to trolling here' so what about his analysis of the 3 News poll.

He trumpets that the poll shows the gap between National Party and Labour Party closing. But, according to Duncan Garner:

"It appears the Kim Dotcom saga, while it is hurting Prime Minister John Key, is not fatal.

While Labour has picked up some support, its leader, David Shearer, remains in the doldrums as preferred Prime Minister.

Mr Key will be buoyed by tonight’s results. National appears to have escaped unscathed from his brain-fade over Dotcom. AT 62 SEATS, NATIONAL QUITE REMARKABLY COULD GOVERN ALONE

The general public has a distaste for political subversives so most likely not a vote winner for the left.
