Conspiracy theory 101

The conspiracy theorists are out in force. If you believe the likes of Labour, the Greens and Herr Dotcom, John Key's visit to Los Angeles is all about payback from Hollywood for the Government's support in the war against Dotcom; the Herald reports:

Prime Minister John Key has defended his decision to go to Hollywood to meet top studio executives immediately after being dragged into the controversy around the US bid to extradite Kim Dotcom to face copyright violation charges.
Mr Key leaves tomorrow on the four-day visit, days after apologising to Dotcom for the Government Communications Security Bureau's unlawful spying on him.
The GCSB's bungle has also now prompted Mr Key to send a senior official from his own department to oversee a review of the bureau's operations.
Dotcom's now defunct Megaupload business is alleged by US authorities to have been a hotbed of illegal filesharing including illicit movie downloads which cost the film industry hundreds of millions of dollars.
But Mr Key yesterday dismissed suggestions that his call on industry executives who may have made the original complaint about Dotcom was untimely.
"I'd say it's excellent timing insomuch that this is an industry that's worth $3 billion to New Zealand ... Yep, there will always be conspiracy theorists out there but I'm interested in jobs, not people who live in fantasy land and want to make things up."

And the PM has support from an unlikely source; former TVNZ political editor Guyon Espiner; check this out:

There you have it. This trip has been on the Prime Ministerial agenda for some time; it hasn't been hastily arranged on the back of the latest Dotcom revelations.

And we wonder this; when John Key dines with James Cameron and others, will he mention to the New Zealand-bound movie maker that opposition politicians don't want Cameron to be able to buy land in New Zealand, but they'll still take his money?

If all those who carp about the Government not creating jobs would actually stop putting obstacles in the way of those who wish to create them, John Key's Brighter Future might not just be aspirational; it could become a reality.

I'd wish that DotCom would join the PM on this trip.
Maybe he could travel as a carry-on "bag".

I'm sure these conspiracy theorists are giving Hollywood plenty of ideas for the next political thriller. Other than that, they should stop making tgemselves a laughing stock for 99% of NZ.

And there you have summed it up in your last paragraph. The left don't want more jobs, a brighter future etc. etc. as it suits their political objectives.

End of story.

John Boy might get to meet Obama.
That's where the ObamaMessiah seems to spend his time when not visiting Vegas.
