Hogan's toughest innings

Martin "Hogan" Crowe faces the innings of (or should that be "for") his life; the Herald reports:

Former cricketer Martin Crowe has been diagnosed with lymphoma.
Louise Henderson, a close family friend and manager to Crowe and his wife, former Miss Universe Lorraine Downes, said the family has a number of issues to confront over the next couple of weeks.
"The diagnosis is very new, the family is still in shock and obviously dealing with the understanding that life as they know it for the unforeseeable future is different.''
The Crowe family has requested privacy at this time.

This will be devastating news for Crowe and his family. On the plus side however, lymphoma  generally has a good prognosis if detected at an early stage.

At the peak of his career Martin Crowe was as good to watch as any batsman in the world. He will need to be in top form to repel this attack however, and we add our thoughts and prayers to the outpouring that has been evident around the traps since this news broke last night.

Kia kaha Hogan; play a captain's knock and beat the enemy within you.

I loved watching Martin play, as you say he was as good as any player on his day, I wish him well, and a speedy recovery.
