Tweet of the Day - 4 October 2012

Scott from Imperator Fish draws inspiration from Rod Emmerson here. He segues together two topical issues with this plaintive plea to the Labour Party caucus:

Seriously though, what's wrong with breeding a cow that can produce hypoallergenic milk. Isn't science all about improving mankind's lot?

The only question that remains to be answered is: Which safe seat should Labour stand the cow in?

I have a question for you, Keeping Stock, that might help you answer your own,
"Seriously though, what's wrong with breeding a cow that can produce hypoallergenic milk. Isn't science all about improving mankind's lot?"

The cow that is featured in the hypoallergenic story was born without a tail. It was one of many genetically-engineered calves.
How did they turn out, do you know?

I've a question also.

Did the ge scientists use ecoli dna in the engineering of the cow's genes, the way they do for so much of the genetic engineering work that's carried out?
Are you happy for our dairy herds to be carrying embedded ecoli genes and are you happy to have your children drinking milk with those genes in it?

There are lots of things to think about and it's good that you've asked the question Keeping Stock.
