The Labour Party is all for a high-wage economy, even if many employers in New Zealand have had it tough for almost five years and simply can't afford it.
So we can't help but wonder; when Labour wants higher wages, isn't this a trifle hypocritical?
Now the merits of Tony Marryatt's pay rise can be debated until the cows come home. But isn't it a little ironic that Labour is calling for higher pay on one hand whilst calling for NOT higher pay on the other?

No. There, answered your question. Funny to see you take the side of an extremely highly-paid and underperforming council bureaucrat against the hard-working ratepayers of Christchurch though.
Got a bite though, didn't it?
Trolling will ALWAYS get a bite!
