So look who's got in on the Hobbit action:
Well done Air New Zealand; it's absolutely brilliant! And well done to all the Weta Workshops people including Sir Peter Jackson who conspired to produce four minutes and 27 seconds of fantasy, magic and humour.

Only superlatives for making the most boring entertaining
Quite so Simo; a couple of times I've watched the reactions of people on Air NZ planes when the safety vids come on; the All Black version and the Richard Simmonds one. And even the most stoic traveller finds it hard to conceal a smile or a laugh. As you say, they have made the mundane into something to look forward to.
At first glance I thought it might be the Green Party AGM being briefed on Quantitative Easing by Russel Norman, but then there are too many people for that.
Whilst the Air NZ vids are entertaining, I find that the entertainment value of them distracts from the safety message.
However, in saying that, I did enjoy that one, and I say fair play to both Sir Peter Jackson, and Dean O'Gorman for appearing - there may have been other actors from The Hobbit in the video, but not being a fan I didn't recognise any of them.
This is a far better safety video than the one we saw on AirNZ to and from Rarotonga last week.
Good on them.
