In breaking news, it has just been announced that Te Ururoa Flavell has launched a challenge to Dr Pita Sharples for the male co-leadership of the Maori Party. RadioLive reports:
Dr Sharples last week made a statement that he had no plans to stand aside as leader and allow Mr Flavell to take over in the run-up to the 2014 election. We wonder if this is a pre-emptive strike by Te Ururoa Flavell intended to provoke a rethink by Pita Sharples.
We'll have more on this breaking story as it comes to hand.
