Andrew Mulligan muses on the news that Lance Armstrong is set to have a "no-holds-barred" interview with Oprah Winfrey next week:
Mulligan's hash-tag is right on the money. This is not going to be a tell-all confession from the disgraced cyclist and drug cheat. It is going to be a carefully managed PR exercise, just like the Tiger Woods interviews after the news of his serial infidelity broke.
It would seem that Lance Armstrong is going to once again do what is best for Lance Armstrong. Any resemblance to the actual truth is likely to be entirely coincidental. We'll be interested to hear what Armstrong has to say, but suspect that David Walsh's version will be far more factually accurate.
