The Friday Forum - 8 February 2013

We've got a busy day ahead; a rush trip to Wellington to do a delivery before we head for Speedway Central. So blogging will be down on the list of priorities this glorious, sunny Friday.

So we've reinstated the Friday Forum. You know the caper; it's YOUR place to express an opinion, share a joke, or vent your spleen before the weekend. It's also been a disrupted week with the middle knocked out of it, and you may be like us; not knowing if you're coming or going.

So relax, make yourself a cuppa, and joint the dialogue. All we ask is that you show a modicum of respect for the views of others, even if you disagree with them.

That's enough from us; the floor is yours!

It is a pointless exercise for NZ to consider the adoption of a 4 year term, while we suffer from continuous reactionary govt.

The Australian's have the foresight to deny such a liberty to Govt, and continue to do so.

Give me a proactive Govt. and I may change my mind.

Hard to disagree with you Taffrail.

Trouble is they are all cut from the same cloth and MMP is doing us no favour in changing that.

Present day politicians live by the old tailors adage of "never mind the quality, feel the width"

Ah, that Lucy Lawless - what a champion of environmental justice! Her profile just rose to new heights as she accepted her punishment and stuck firmly to her principles. It'll irritate the hell out of Lofty and co, but her victory is a victory for the principled left! Warrior Princess!

Wrong, it does not irritate me at all Bob, I just find it & her pathetic, a bit like you really, and I mean that in the nicest possible way.

The need to act that was surely is pathetic, Lofty.

Hope she does it again.

So do I ;-)

patience runs thin in this country, it would make for a nice sideshow.

Yay Lucy! said...

That's what they said last time. Lucy sailed through untouched, so bring on all the sound and fury, signifying nothing.

It is shameful the lack of attention the Women's World Cup (if you have to ask what sport, you're proving the point) is receiving at the moment. Our team has a strong chance of making the final, possibly even winning the whole competition, but you wouldn't know it because of the continuing soap opera around captaincy of the Men's team. I took a screengrab of the main sport page of Stuff during the White Ferns demolition of Sri Lanka, you can see it here:

The White Ferns are nowhere to be seen across the entire page, even though they were in the middle of taking out a must win match at a World Cup.
