Quote of the Day - 22 March 2013

Judith Collins has come to the defence of her new appointment as Race Relations Commissioner, Dame Susan Devoy:

Mrs Collins said the comments were made before Dame Susan became commissioner, and she would not be as free to express her personal views in her new role.
She added: "The Far Left does not have a monopoly on caring about race relations and Dame Susan Devoy is a very sensible and balanced person.
"We're allowed in this country to have views that have not been politically sanitised and what's wrong with that?"

We couldn't agree more. Dame Susan will be a breath of fresh air after the one-sided tenure of Joris de Bres.

Joris was qualified at least. Devoy's qualifications appear to be that she played squash against foreigners. How much are we paying her to do a job she's singularly not qualified for?

What next? Colin Meads as Chair of the Commerce Commission? He'd be a "breath of fresh air" after the one-sided tenure of Mark Berry. Who cares if he knows nothing?

Susan, devoid of experience.

Growing up in a mixed-race family isn't experience Big Bird? After the failed reign of de Bres, spare us from academics please.

Colin Meads for Commerce Commission what a great idea! He'd be about as qualified as Michael Cullen was to be minister of finance.

As long as she deals with the `reverse racism' which de bres turned a blind eye to it will be a good start.

The rantings of Hone Harawira being a prime example of reverse racism.

Mixed-race family? Even she's not sure of this, so not really relevant. Sorry, try harder with your spin.

"spare us from academics..."

The right's fear and loathing of knowledge and expertise never ceases to amuse. You think stupidity and ignorance are virtues. Fantastic.

I had the unfortunate experience of dealing with Devoy when working at a radio station in invercargill. She has to be bordering a sociopath, the woman is absolutely hideous and fingers crossed her 205k pa reign will convince the country that the RRC is a stupid waste of money and should be des established.
I have never dealt with anyone who has less regard for human beings in a twenty year career.

That's unfair Dave. She was quite good at hitting a small rubber ball at a wall once. Any flaws she may have are irrelevant once you know this. I sense the malignant incompetence of Murray McCully here...

I never realised that radio had progressed to Invercargill till now.

Amazing what you learn here!
