Random numbers...

  • 390,000 - the number of signatures (yet to be verified) on the Labour/Green Political Party Initiated Referendum petition
  • 11 - the number of months it has taken to gather those signatures, despite large sums of taxpayer funding being thrown at it, and staff being employed to collect signatures
  • 151,978 - the number of pre-registrations to purchase shares in Mighty River Power as at 5.15pm
  • 30.75 - the number of hours that pre-registration had been open as at 5.15pm last night
  • 6927 - the number of people who have responded to Stuff's poll from Tuesday on the sale of Mighty River Power
  • 69.1% - the percentage of respondents who think that the sale of Mighty River Power is "good"
If Labour and the Greens have chosen to make asset sales a die-in-a-ditch issue, someone had better call the doctor...

I think you're a wee bit confused. Asset sales, especially the way this crowd are doing it, are a very bad idea. However, I've pre-registered because why should I let you guys do all the gouging of the public purse?

That poll was spiked. The real poll will be far more interesting.

"Non de plumes" is correct.

It means Big Bird doesn't have a feather to fly on.
