Really?

We've been out for a while, so we've only just received this photograph in our e-mail inbox. We're told that it's from a Young Labour stand at a university O Week:

Is this REALLY the kind of image that the Labour Party wants to project to young New Zealanders? And if that's the case, is it any great surprise that the Young Nationals have signed up more than 1500 new members around the country during O Week; without resorting to obscenities?

I can't say that this sentiment is surprising either in its coarseness or its message. How low can these deluded types plummet?

Seriously? Who are you the Milky Bar Kid? Poor baby. Go and check out your mate Slater if you want to see vicious obscenities and abuse, and he's allegedly an adult.

Not a good look for Labour at all.

ETC: on your comment re: Cam Slater, what you say may be so, but he isn't out in public trying to get members to join a political party, he is like that on his own blog, so not the same at all, and your comments seem to be a case of attack being the best defence... so I would like to interpret it that you cannot defend the marketing campaign of Young Labour, so instead attack a third party. However, if you can find some calm and logical reason why this is a good look for Young Labour, I for one would be interested in hearing it, personally I would not be enticed to sign up to ANY group who had a sign like that, regardless of whether I agreed with them or not.

I doubt anyone cares enough about Young Labour to be that bothered by this. In fact, I'm not even sure adult Labour cares about Young Labour.

(Sorry, that should be 'adult' Labour)

Nope, but obviously the point was too subtle for you. Sorry 'bout that. Keep up the faux outrage ladies.

Actually Edward, it might be that people are ignoring you because you are persona non-grata here. And that's NOT tongue in cheek!

Exactly KS. I truly perceive the use of a poster like the one featured as beneath contempt. It is impossible to accept that early Labourites ( I have in mind Fraser, Savage and Nash) would countenance this.
