Tweets of the Day - 14 March 2013

The Twittersphere went into overdrive this morning when white smoke burst forth from the chimney above the Sistine Chapel. Here's just a small selection of some that took our fancy.

In the meantime, the official Papal Twitter account has been reactivated. All of Pope Benedict's tweets have disappeared into the ether, but Pope Francesco has made his first outreach to almost 1.75million social media followers:


The smoke has cleared, and the excitement amongst the Roman Catholic community will slowly subside; except perhaps in Latin America, which has its first Pope.
