Yeah right

We reckon that this story might end up on a Tui billboard; 3News reports:

Police say the man who allegedly stole a patrol car in Hamilton didn't realise it was a police vehicle until he heard officers on the radio.
The patrol car was taken on Saturday morning while officers dealt with a crash but discovered abandoned and undamaged by the city's Lake Rotoroa about 20 minutes later.
Police say that following inquiries and information from Facebook postings, a 34-year-old man was arrested on Sunday.
"Despite the car being a marked patrol vehicle and its flashing lights, the offender told officers he didn't realise it was a police car until he was driving it away and heard the police radio in use," Inspector Paul Carpenter said.
Police are reviewing how the man was able to allegedly steal the patrol car.
There were no firearms or tasers in the vehicle's safe at the time, police said.

Right; the white car with the red and blue flashing lights on top, and "POLICE" in large letters on the side was just sitting there, and the bloke didn't realise that it might actually be a Police car. Asking us to believe that is stretching credibility just a little, don't you think?
